When you sign in to MECSLab using your Google account, we collect your basic profile information, including your name, email address (@matrusri.edu.in), and profile picture. During onboarding and profile updates, we also collect academic details such as your branch, year, technical skills, and optional contact information like your phone number and social media links (e.g., GitHub, LinkedIn, Portfolio).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information strictly to provide and improve the MECSLab platform. This includes creating your public profile, matching you with relevant projects and teammates, and displaying your contributions. Your data is not sold or shared with any third-party marketing services.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is securely stored using Supabase infrastructure. While we implement standard security practices and Row Level Security (RLS) to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
4. Public Visibility
Please note that MECSLab is a collaborative platform. Your name, branch, year, bio, contact information (if provided), social links, and the ideas/artifacts you post will be visible to other authenticated users from the college. Private communications and team standups remain restricted to team members.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated data. Since you authenticate via Google, you can also revoke MECSLab's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Security settings.
